A meal delivery service and local first responders have teamed up to make sure seniors and those in distress aren’t forgotten during the holiday season. “Some of our seniors are homebound and some have mobility issues,” explained Dave Galley, Heart to Home franchise owner. “I know a meal isn’t going to change their life but if they don’t have anyone it’s nice to be that someone.” For a second year, EMS will reach out to Galley if they feel a patient could benefit from a warm meal, free of charge. “Some people recently had trauma or just got out of the hospital and need a little extra help,” said Galley. Heart to Homes will deliver 225 gift bags this Christmas that include a breakfast, holiday dinner, and dessert. “It’s just fantastic to give something back and make people feel special at Christmas,” added Galley.
