This year will mark the 22nd year of the annual Walk to Make Cystic Fibrosis (CF) History. On Sunday, the community came together to raise funds to find a cure for the disease. In Windsor, the walk kicked off at Farrow Miracle Park, located at 6755 Wyandotte Street East, just after noon. Since 2005 more than $50 million has been raised, and some substantial progress has been made with some medications significantly improving the quality and extending the life of the 4,400 Canadians living with CF. However, those medications are very expensive, and in some cases average about $25,000 or more per month. In addition, and not many health insurance providers help to cover the costs. The walk takes place in 40 communities across Canada.
