Hundreds of people are lining up for a Costco job fair in east Windsor. The Windsor Regional Employment Network hosts a pair of major hiring events Wednesday and Thursday. Costco is looking to staff its new east Windsor store, expected to open later this fall. The first job fair is at the Serbian Centre on Wednesday Sept. 23. The event runs from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome, although online applicants will receive priority for interviews. A second career fair follows on Sept. 24 at the Caboto Club running from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., and is aimed at everyone from first-time job seekers to people looking for a career change. John Trpeski, executive director of Employment and Social Services with the City of Windsor, says more than 200 positions are available and some applicants could receive offers on the spot. “Costco is going to be interviewing qualified candidates on the spot, and in many cases, they would receive confirmation of employment on the spot as well, so that’s exciting news,” Trpeski told AM800 News. Job seekers are encouraged to bring resumes, dress professionally and research potential employers before attending. Applying online in advance is also recommended to help secure interviews.
