The former Sarnia basketball coach, James “Jim” Miller, was found guilty on Sept. 18 of four counts of sexual interference and one count of invitation to sexual touching. These convictions are from his involvement as a youth basketball coach in Sarnia in the 1980s and 1990s. Sarnia police says the victims made police reports decades after the assaults occurred. “There is no time limit on reporting a sexual assault,” said Kent Jamieson, acting inspector in the criminal investigations division. “We understand that many survivors need significant time before feeling ready to share their experience with police.” Miller had moved to BC and was a city councillor in Penticton, BC at the time of his arrest.
