There is one week left for local aspiring politicians to file their nomination papers. The polls open for municipal elections on Oct. 26 to elect mayors, councillors, and school board trustees. Officials urge candidates to not wait until the last minute to file their papers. They must be in by 2 p.m. on Aug. 21. Making an appointment to file your papers is highly recommended. Candidates also need signatures, identification, and proof of residency. A full, updated list of Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent election candidates are available on CTV Windsor’s website.
