An Ottawa driver is facing multiple charges, including impaired driving, after colliding with a beer vendor on Baseline Road on Thursday afternoon. According to a post on social media from police, a vehicle was driven into The Beer Store on Baseline Road near Woodroffe Avenue at approximately 3 p.m. The driver left the scene but was located by officers a short time later. Police say the officers observed signs of impairment and arrested the driver after conducting an Approved Screening Device test. Police say breath tests indicated the driver’s blood alcohol level was more than three-and-a-half times the legal limit. “Thanks to the swift actions of responding officers, the driver was taken into custody before any further harm or property damage occurred,” police said. The driver is facing multiple charges, including operation while impaired, operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration of 80+, dangerous operation, failure to stop after an accident and failure to comply with a release order.
