The Chatham-Kent Police Service is asking residents near an active investigation to shelter in place. In a post to social media, police noted there is a ‘significant’ presence in the area of Queen’s Line, west of Bloomfield Road in Chatham. “Out of an abundance of caution, residents in the immediate area are being asked to remain inside their homes and shelter in place until further notice,” the post reads. Drivers are being asked to avoid the area and seek alternative routes to allow “responding emergency services” to work safely. The police service noted there are no further details that can be released at this time, though updates will be provided when possible.
