The Township of Pelee is looking at a nearly 3 per cent tax hike for its 2026 budget. The proposed 2.98 per cent jump is short of the 3.5 per cent annual tax rate increase target for full investment of infrastructure and core services, through the township’s asset management plan. However, the report to council shows road and shoreline infrastructure are key focuses of spending. While total employee costs have dipped 2.5 per cent from last year, policing costs have jumped 11 per cent.
