Ontario Provincial Police have laid impaired driving charges in three separate weekend incidents — including two vehicles into ditches. On Friday at 8:14 a.m., OPP report officers responded to a vehicle in a ditch on County Rd. 22 near Commercial Boulevard in Lakeshore. A Belle River man, 38, was charged with two impaired driving-related offences and given a 90-day driver’s licence suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment. The following day around 9:49 p.m., police were again called to the scene of a vehicle into a ditch, this time on County Rd. 27 in the South Woodslee area. A 36-year-old driver, also from Belle River, was charged with two impaired driving-related offences. He was also given a 90-day licence suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment. Later that day, around 11:43 p.m., OPP report a traffic stop on Dougall Ave. near the EC Row Expressway in Windsor led to a pair of impaired driving charges for a 26-year-old driver from the city. They were also penalized with a 90-day licence suspension and weeklong vehicle impoundment. OPP stress safety is a paramount community concern, and officers are focused on enforcing impaired driving laws to that end.
