A 21-year-old man has died following an apparent animal attack in a Manitoba First Nation. According to RCMP, officers in Swan River received a report of a suspicious death in Sapotaweyak Cree Nation on Sept. 9. When they arrived, they found a 21-year-old man dead on a road in the community. The scene was secured and the RCMP’s Major Crime Services took over the investigation. An autopsy took place and RCMP say the preliminary cause of the man’s death was an animal attack, but the type of animal has not been determined. Manitoba Conservation officials have been informed by RCMP about the investigation.
