Winnipeg Jets release their schedule for the upcoming season

It’s time for Winnipeg Jets fans to start planning out their hockey-watching schedule as the team released their 2026-27 schedule Thursday.

The Jets will open up their season on home ice on Oct. 2, against the Boston Bruins.

The reigning Stanley Cup champions will be in town two weeks later on Oct. 13 for a matinee affair.

October also features the Heritage Classic on the 25th. The Jets and Montreal Canadiens will do battle from Princess Auto Stadium. That game is also the first all-Canadian matchup for the Jets on the season.

The other Canadian team contests in Winnipeg will be the Calgary Flames on Jan. 2 and March 7, the Vancouver Canucks on Nov. 5 and April 9, the Edmonton Oilers on April 7, the Ottawa Senators on Nov. 17, and the Toronto Maple Leafs on March 11.

The regular season is expanding by two games this year, with each team now playing 84 games.

With this change, it means the Jets will play every Pacific Division team three times, each Central Division team four times – twice at home and twice on the road – and each eastern team twice – once at home and once on the road.

There will be plenty of home cooking for the Jets in March, as they will play at Canada Life Centre 10 times that month, including a six-game stretch to start off the month.

Winnipeg will also have three separate four-game road trips this season, the team’s longest stretch all year.

The season will conclude with back-to-back games in April. First hosting the Canucks on April 9 and then on the road in Edmonton on April 10.
