Ferry crossings in the Maritimes are being affected by a round of wet weather moving into the region. Newfoundland-Nova Scotia ferry Marine Atlantic rescheduled the following sailings for Friday: The ferry service is also warning of potential schedule impacts to the following Saturday sailings: Bar Harbor-Nova Scotia ferry Bay Ferries Limited has cancelled the following sailings for The Cat on Saturday: Prince Edward Island-Nova Scotia ferry On Saturday, there will be no sailings at 11:45 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. from Wood Islands, P.E.I., or Caribou, N.S. “These pauses in service give our crews the adequate time required to complete essential safety drills, work that happens behind the scenes to keep every crossing safe,” reads a notice from Northumberland Ferries. Weather warnings Yellow rainfall warnings were issued Thursday afternoon for parts of Nova Scotia and P.E.I., where rainfall totals of 70 to 120 mm are expected until Monday morning. Special weather statements are also in place for southeastern New Brunswick, where 20 to 40 mm is expected until Saturday.
