Halifax crews responding to two-hectare brush fire near St. Margaret’s Bay Road

Halifax crews are responding to a two-hectare brush fire near St. Margaret’s Bay Road Tuesday afternoon.

Dennis Pitts, district fire chief with Halifax Fire and Emergency, said the fire is in a wooded area between St. Margaret’s Bay Road, Highway 102 and Highway 103. It is believed to have started around 2:40 p.m.

Twenty Halifax firefighters are on scene, along with the Department of Natural Resources.
