Police are looking for a suspect after a person was badly injured during a violent home invasion in Dartmouth, N.S. Halifax Regional Police responded to a home on Trenholme Street around 7 p.m. Tuesday. “It was reported that a suspect forced his way into the home, assaulted and threatened the victim with a firearm before fleeing the scene in the victim’s vehicle,” said police in a news release Wednesday. The victim was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Police say officers recovered the stolen vehicle a short distance away that evening, but they haven’t been able to find the suspect. “Investigators are still trying to determine the relationship between the suspect and victim at this time and are currently working on getting an updated description of the suspect from the victim,” Const. Mandy Paquet told CTV News. Investigators are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact Halifax Regional Police at 902-490-5020.
