The Hospice of Windsor and Essex County has kicked off its 24th annual Face-to-Face campaign. The campaign will continue to support of Hospice’s Fairley Family Transportation program. It allows clients to get to and from medical appointments and Hospice Wellness Programs. In 2022, the G.E.N.I.E (Granting Exceptional N’ Impactful Experiences), which is also supported by the Face-to-Face campaign. This program gives patients under hospice care to request special trips or outings. “We’re so grateful to everyone who supports the Face-to-Face campaign year after year,” said Katharen Bortolin, executive director at The Hospice of Windsor and Essex County. “Because of your generosity, people in hospice care can receive the support they need, while creating meaningful memories with their loved ones. Thank you for continuing to show up for our hospice patience and families in such a meaningful and generous way.” John Fairley, campaign founder and chair, said the campaign began 24 years ago with the goal of ensuring patients and their loved ones get the care, comfort, and compassion they deserve. “Today, thanks to the incredible generosity of the Windsor and Essex County, that mission continues to touch countless lives,” he said. “Every donation helps create precious moments for families during life’s most difficult journey, and we’re grateful to everyone who joins us in making this year’s campaign another success.” The campaign kicks off on Saturday, Aug. 15, and runs until Sept. 30. Donations can be made online and in-person with canvassers. To date, the campaign has raised more than $1.8 million.
