Run to End Endo supports those living with endometriosis in Halifax-area

Dozens of people gathered in Dartmouth, N.S., on Saturday to raise money for those living with endometriosis.

The Run to End Endo took place at Grahams Grove Park near Lake Banook. Close to 80 participants walked or ran the five-kilometre course.

Approximately two million Canadians live with endometriosis, an inflammatory disease that can cause chronic pelvic pain, painful periods, bowel or bladder symptoms and even infertility.

The Run to End Endo helps raise funds for research, education and support for those dealing with the disease, which can be a debilitating and isolating condition.

“These people that are going through these symptoms every single day, and these life-long struggles, coming together to connect with one another, to learn local tips and tricks to manage their symptoms has just been huge, so it’s such an important connection for our community,” said run director Lauren Rogerson.

Run to End Endo events are taking place across Canada from May 23 to June 14. Last year, more than $100,000 was raised nationwide.
