Astronomy experts are hosting a free public viewing of the partial solar eclipse at Saint Mary’s University in Halifax on Wednesday. The eclipse will be partially visible from the area as the moon moves across part of the sun, reaching its peak near 3 p.m. From 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., members of the public can gather on the lawn along Inglis Street to observe the event. Saint Mary’s astronomy experts will be on hand to answer questions, with specially filtered solar telescopes and free eclipse glasses available. The university says Nova Scotia is one of the best places in North America to view the partial eclipse.
