Police say they are looking for a man who fled the scene of a head-on crash that injured several people in Stratford, P.E.I., Wednesday night. RCMP, fire and ambulance crews responded to the two-vehicle collision on Stratford Road around 8:45 p.m. Police say a blue Chevrolet Equinox was traveling towards the Hillsborough Bridge when it crossed the centre line and collided with an oncoming SUV. The driver of the Equinox allegedly fled the scene following the crash. His passenger was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. All five occupants of the other vehicle were treated for minor injuries. A K-9 unit searched the area, but could not find the driver of the Equinox. The RCMP describes him as middle aged and about five-foot-six. Police say he likely injured his face in the crash. Investigators believe alcohol and speed were factors in the collision.
