Just days after a major change in ownership of the Barrie Colts, the team is making trades. On Tuesday, the organization announced the trade of goaltender Ben Hrebik and the acquisition of forward Dylan Tsherna. The Colts traded Hrebik to the Guelph Storm in exchange for a 2027 15th round conditional pick. “Ben has been a great teammate and a hard worker for us, and we’re grateful for everything he brought to this room,” said Colts General Manager, Marty Williamson, adding “we wish him nothing but the best.” RELATED: Barrie Colts sold Meanwhile, Dylan Tsherna will suit up for the Colts following a stint with the Brantford Bulldogs. In exchange for Tsherna, the Bulldogs received a 2028 6th Round Pick. “Dylan is a veteran player who plays the game with a high level of aggression and jam that was evident through last year’s playoffs,” said Head Coach Dylan Smoskowitz. “He fits the mold of a Barrie Colt perfectly and will be relied upon to provide leadership and guidance to our younger players,” Smoskowitz said.
