A Barrie man is facing serious charges after a search warrant was executed by Barrie Police. According to police, officers arrested the man on Friday after executing a search warrant in his home during which police seized several electronic devices. Police say the arrest comes after a two-month-long investigation. Authorities received reports of an investigation of an IP address that used a peer-to-peer network to possess, download and make child sexual abuse and exploitation material available. Police say the devices seized from the man’s home were sent for forensics analysis and categorization, which “resulted in the discovery of child sexual abuse and exploitation material.” The 42-year-old now faces charges of possession of and making child sexual abuse and exploitation material available.
