The Ottawa Police Service says a fire in Barrhaven over the weekend is suspicious, and arson investigators are on the scene. The fire broke out on Moonbeam Street at around 2 a.m. on Saturday. Firefighters got the blaze under control by 4:35 a.m. No one was reported hurt, but firefighters did have to be evacuated from the house because of dangerous conditions inside. In a news release, Ottawa police say there was substantial damage to the home. “The origin and cause of the fire are being investigated by our partner agency, the Office of the Fire Marshal, with the ongoing support of the Ottawa Fire Service,” police said. Investigators are asking anyone with information, including surveillance or dash camera footage, to contact the Arson and Explosion Unit at 613-236-1222, extension 2202, or by email at arson@ottawapolice.ca.
