Barrie police say charges have been against a driver for a collision that killed a motorcyclist in June. On June 19, a collision between a motorcycle and a vehicle brought traffic to a stand still at Big Bay Point Road and Hurst Drive in Barrie. The collision happened around 4:15 p.m. and left roads closed for hours. Police say the motorcycle was travelling westbound on Big Bay Point Road approaching Hurst Drive, where the vehicle in question had briefly stopped at the an amber light, before making a left turn in the intersection and colliding with the motorcycle. The motorcyclist, a 63-year-old Barrie man, died in the collision. The driver of the car was not seriously injured and remained on scene. On Wednesday, police charged an 88-year-old Barrie man with careless driving causing death in connection to the collision.
