Police are looking for the public’s help in identifying a group of young people who they believe are behind ongoing damage at a golf course. The OPP says it thinks the same group has trespassed onto a golf course property in the Township of Amaranth and caused damage on several occasions. According to police, officers received reports of trespassers making their way onto Meadow Land Golf Club on the 6th Line and vandalizing the greens and sand traps earlier this summer. One of the young people police are looking to identify is pictured on a dirt bike or all-terrain-type vehicle. Authorities remind the public these types of vehicles that are typically designed for off-road use can only be operated on private property with the owner’s permission. They are also designed to be driven on approved trails and roads where the municipality allows. Drivers of these vehicles also need to meet the rules for driving them, which include proper registration and insurance and a valid driver’s license. Police are asking anyone who may have information about the incidents or the people involved to contact Dufferin OPP.
