Thunder could roar through the region on Wednesday, bringing other severe weather with it. Environment Canada has issued a yellow thunderstorm watch for several communities within the region, including Barrie, Collingwood, Newmarket and Caledon. The national weather centre says heavy rain and even toonie-sized hail are possible. Wind will become strong too with gusts as strong as 90 kilometres per hour. The unsettled weather is expected to continue throughout the afternoon and into the early evening. Conditions will begin to improve towards the end of the week. Skies are expected to clear for Thursday with a comfortable high of 25 C. The humidex will make it feel closer to 30, with a high UV index.
