York Regional Police are asking for help tracking down a 31-year-old man wanted in connection with a criminal harassment investigation. Police say Baraa Badawi, with no fixed address, was released from a Newmarket courtroom on June 25 under a release order. Investigators allege that during July and August, Badawi breached several conditions of that order. Police say they have been unable to find him and a warrant has now been issued for his arrest. Badawi is wanted on five counts of failing to comply with a release order and five counts of disobeying a court order. York Regional Police have released his photo in hopes that someone may know where he is. Officers say Badawi is known to visit the downtown Toronto area. Investigators say they are encouraging him to seek legal advice and turn himself in. They are also reminding the public that knowingly helping someone evade police could lead to criminal charges. Anyone with information about Badawi’s whereabouts is asked to contact the York Regional Police.
