MARKHAM — Pet Valu Holdings Ltd. reported a net income of $24.9 million in its second quarter, up from $21.8 million a year ago. The retailer of pet food and pet-related supplies says it profit amounted to 37 cents per diluted share for the quarter ended July 4 compared with a profit of 31 cents per diluted share a year earlier. Revenue totalled $290.7 million, up from $280.6 million in the same quarter last year. Same-store sales ticked 0.2 per cent lower. On an adjusted basis, Pet Valu says it earned 41 cents per diluted share in its latest quarter compared with an adjusted profit of 38 cents per diluted in the second quarter of 2025.
