The weather for the start of this week will be very similar to this past weekend – with above-seasonal temperatures and calm and clear conditions. Daytime highs around southern and central Alberta will reach the mid to high-20s on Monday, before cooling down slightly over the next few days. There is a slight risk of frost overnight along the foothills, but in Calgary, the overnight low will sit around 11 C on Monday, so frost is not a concern there. The main weather maker right now is a ridge of high pressure situated over the western prairies that is funneling warmer Pacific air into the region. A low-pressure system from the north Pacific basin will start to track south and east along the south-central Pacific coastline before heading over the Rockies by the end of the week. Unsettled weather is expected for the weekend with cloud cover, rain and cooler temperatures. Daytime highs will range from 12 C to 14 C in Calgary with lows between 3 C to 5 C. The normal range in Calgary this time of year is 17 C for a daily high and 3 C for a daily low.
