Cavalry FC has replaced one legendary goalkeeper with another. On New Year’s Day, Cavalry posted a video showing Nathan Ingham in team gear to announce the signing. The 32-year-old just won the Canadian Premier League championship with Atlético Ottawa in a snowy final game in November, when they beat Cavalry 2-1. Ingham replaces Marco Carducci, who has left Cavalry to sign with the Halifax Wanderers. Ingham is originally from Ontario but played for Calgary Foothills in the Premier Development League in 2018. “I can’t wait to get to Calgary and to get started,” said Ingham in a Cavalry news release. “Between the coaching staff and the squad, there are a lot of guys that I’m excited to work with. My goal is to make this club better. That is a big task considering the pedigree, but I’m determined to help take it to another level.” Ingham has earned two Golden Glove nominations for the CPL’s best goalkeeper award in 2022 and 2025. “Nate has been among the league’s elite goalkeepers since the CPL began,” said Tommy Wheeldon Jr., head coach and general manager of Cavalry FC, in a news release. “He’s a proven winner, a strong leader and someone who consistently impacts matches at the biggest moments. His ability with the ball and his calm authority inspire confidence in the team in front of him.” Cavalry says Ingham will join the club for preseason training in January.
