It was hot in the city on Wednesday, but the hottest days of the week are still ahead of us. Thursday is expected to be even hotter than Wednesday — even in the morning. Expect a temperature of 19 C at 8 a.m. that will shoot up to 29 C in the afternoon. It is expected to be sunny, with a chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms beginning around 5 p.m. Friday will be a hot one too, with less of a chance of active weather. A system will roll in for the weekend and it will drop the heat and lots of rain, especially on Saturday when 10 millimetres of rain or more is possible. I am sure you heard the thunder in Calgary on Tuesday night — here is how cool it looked. This lightning photo is courtesy of an incredible photographer, Matt Melnyk.
