A Lethbridge man is facing sexual assault and sexual interference charges after allegedly assaulting two young girls. Police launched an investigation on July 18 after a 12-year-old girl disclosed to a friend that a man had sexually assaulted her. Speaking to police, the girl said there had been three incidents between June 2024 and May 2026. During the investigation, police found a second victim, a 10-year-old girl, who said she had been sexually assaulted by the same man last summer. “In both cases, the accused was a family friend who regularly spent time with the children,” police said in a Friday news release. Nicholas Tilbe, 30, is charged with four counts of sexual interference and one count of sexual assault. Police say he was released from custody with numerous conditions, including no contact with either victim or children under the age of 16. He is prohibited from attending public pools, schools, school grounds, daycares, playgrounds, youth shelters or libraries unless accompanied by an adult family member. He is also prohibited from holding volunteer positions or employment that would place him in a position of trust or authority over anyone under the age of 16.
