Ukraine’s president and first lady are spending the next couple of days in Canada, with stops in Calgary and Banff. While here, Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Olena Zelenska will also visit Toronto and North Bay in Ontario. Prime Minister Mark Carney said in a statement issued on Wednesday evening the visit “underscores Canada’s continued leadership in supporting Ukraine and reflects our unwavering commitment to a just and lasting peace.” They’re in Canada through Friday. On Thursday, Zelenskyy will “address Cabinet members at the Cabinet Planning Forum in Banff.” “The visit’s programme will focus on shared priorities between Canada and Ukraine, including deepening defence, economic and energy co-operation,” Carney’s release said. “It will also address the human cost of Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine and build on the strong people-to-people ties that connect our countries.”
