A stretch of Base Line Road East will be closed for several days beginning Monday as crews complete underground servicing work in the area. The City of London says Base Line Road East will be closed between High Street and Ridout Street South from Sept. 21 until approximately Sept. 24. The work involves connecting water, storm sewer and sanitary sewer services to a nearby property. A signed detour will direct traffic along High Street, Emery Street East and Ridout Street South. The south sidewalk within the construction zone will also be closed. Access to nearby homes will be maintained throughout the project, according to the city. Some London Transit Commission routes will be affected by the closure. Transit riders are encouraged to check the LTC website for updated route and schedule information. The work is taking place near the Wellington Gateway Phase 2A and 2B construction area. Motorists should expect delays and changing traffic conditions and are advised to follow posted detour signs.
