The Winnipeg Police Service has made an arrest in a Friday morning drive-by shooting in the city’s West End. According to police, the incident began with a fight between a man and a group of people outside a hotel on McPhillips Street. Those involved eventually went their separate ways; however, the incident escalated a short while later when police learned of a drive-by shooting in the 600 block of Toronto Street around 1 a.m. No injuries were reported. Officers responded to the scene, spotted the suspect vehicle and took a woman into custody. Police seized a loaded gun and bear spray from the car. A 33-year-old woman is facing numerous charges, including storing a firearm or restricted weapon contrary to regulations and unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle. The charges have not been proven in court.
