London police are investigating a shooting in the city’s south end that sent a man to hospital early Sunday. Police responded to a report of gunshots near Fennell Crescent and Ernest Avenue at about 1:30 a.m. on Oct. 18. While officers were en route, police received a second call about a vehicle collision near Bradley Avenue and Ernest Avenue. Officers found evidence of a shooting on Fennell Crescent. Shortly after the initial call, an adult male arrived at hospital with injuries sustained in the shooting. During the investigation, it was determined the vehicle involved in the collision was also connected to the shooting. Two men and one woman were seen fleeing the vehicle before officers arrived and have not been located, London police said. Investigators believe the victim was targeted. He remains in hospital in fair condition. The London Police Service’s Major Crime Section is asking anyone who was in the areas of Fennell Crescent and Ernest Avenue or Ernest Avenue and Bradley Avenue between 1:20 a.m. and 1:40 a.m. and has dashcam footage, surveillance video or information that could help the investigation to contact police.
