Craigwiel Gardens in Ailsa Craig is inviting the public to its first ‘Walk the Kindness Way’ walk fundraiser. There are two distance options, 10 kilometres or 19.4 kilometres, with proceeds funding Craigwiel’s Spread Kindness initiatives. Those initiatives include creating outdoor paths and gardens. “The annual Walk the Kindness Way fundraiser has raised in excess of $250,000, helping to complete healing gardens at Fairview Community in Cambridge and Parkwood Community in Waterloo,” said Elaine Shantz, president and CEO, Fairview Parkwood Craigwiel Communities. “This year, we are pleased to launch the walk at Craigwiel Gardens, adding a third day to the event. Each campus has set its sights on raising $20,000 to support their Spread Kindness initiatives, including the creation of outdoor paths and gardens for nearly 150 older adults living at Craigwiel Gardens. Whether you walk 10 kilometres or the full 60 kilometres option, every step makes a difference.” Walkers can sign up individually or as a team. Sign up is available on Craigwiel’s website. It takes place Oct. 25 at 9:30 a.m.
