Police are investigating a series of vehicle entries and attempted break-ins reported Saturday in the south end of St. Thomas, including several incidents believed to involve the same male and female suspects. In one case, a homeowner discovered damage to the weather stripping of a locked vehicle after waking up Saturday morning. Police said the damage was consistent with an attempt to gain entry by prying the window. No entry was gained and nothing was reported stolen. In three other incidents, vehicles were entered overnight and property was taken. One homeowner reported identification cards and bank cards stolen from a vehicle. Investigators said video footage has identified potential suspects, described as a man and a woman. The investigation is ongoing and charges are pending. A third homeowner reported a theft from an unlocked vehicle, with the vehicle ownership permit, charging cables and an inverter block stolen. Police believe the same suspects may be responsible. Another resident in the same area reported a wallet stolen after a vehicle was entered overnight. Investigators also believe that incident is connected to the same suspects. Police continue to investigate the series of thefts and are reminding residents to lock their vehicles and remove valuables from view when parked overnight.
