A restaurant in Montreal’s Verdun borough was targeted in an arson early Sunday, according to police. Montreal police (SPVM) received a 911 call around 2:30 a.m. about a fire in a restaurant on Rue de Verdun, near 2e Avenue. The damage was minor, and no injuries were reported. The apartments located above the restaurant were evacuated as a precautionary measure. Witnesses told police that they saw the suspect throw an incendiary device into the restaurant, starting the fire. The suspect fled the scene before police arrived. No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
