A restaurant in Montreal’s Verdun borough was targeted in an arson early Sunday, according to police. Montreal police (SPVM) received a 911 call around 2:30 a.m. about a fire in a restaurant on Rue de Verdun, near 2e Avenue. The damage was minor, and no injuries were reported. The apartments located above the restaurant were evacuated as a precautionary measure. Witnesses told police that they saw the suspect throw an incendiary device into the restaurant, starting the fire. The suspect fled the scene before police arrived.
