Summer-like heat and humidity will continue across southern Ontario Tuesday, despite the official start of meteorological fall, according to CTV London Meteorologist Julie Atchison. A muggy start is expected, with temperatures climbing into the upper 20s and low 30s. London is expected to reach 30 C, while parts of the region could hit 33 C. A heat warning is in effect for Essex County. Some cloud cover is expected in the morning, followed by a mix of sun and cloud in the afternoon. There is a 60 per cent chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms Wednesday, with another hot and humid day expected. Thursday will be mainly cloudy, with a high of 27 C. “We have moisture and instability and the risk of scattered showers and thunderstorms over the next couple of days,” said Atchison. The weather should settle heading into the Labour Day long weekend, with a mix of sun and cloud from Friday through Monday and highs of 24 to 26 C. Despite the start of meteorological fall, summer-like conditions are expected to linger across southern Ontario.
