A fire broke out in Vancouver’s Plaza of Nations on Monday night, prompting a police investigation. Videos from the scene taken at approximately 7:45 p.m. showed large flames outside of a building, very close to where boats were moored in the harbour. Flames and smoke could be seen billowing into the sky around False Creek. Vancouver Fire and Rescue Services said the there was no structural damage and that no one was injured. “Crews arrived on scene quickly and knocked down the fire confining it to the outside of the structure,” an emailed statement to CTV News said. The Vancouver Police Department is investigating the fire as a “possible arson” a spokesperson said in a statement, adding that officers were canvassing for witnesses and CCTV video.
