An EF1 tornado, packing winds of 150 km/h twisted a five-storey high steel grain bin into a pretzel, and ripped the roof off a neighbouring shed. The damage, west of Monkton, from a Sept. 2 storm, has been confirmed as an EF1 tornado, by the Northern Tornadoes Project at Western University. More damage, including a large farm shed being destroyed, near Seaforth, has been categorized as an EF1 downburst, with winds exceeding 165km/h. The storm left a path of destruction, stretching from Bayfield to Cambridge, uprooting trees, levelling several barns and sheds, throughout Huron and Perth Counties. EF1 tornadoes have already been confirmed by the Northern Tornadoes Project, to have touched down near Tavistock, Wellesley, and Shakespeare, during the same storm.
