Northern Ont. police seize guns and drugs in Thessalon

Ontario Provincial Police in Thessalon seized cocaine, fentanyl and several weapons earlier this month during a raid of a residence in the community.

Police executed a search warrant Sept. 2, finding drugs believed to be 103.8 grams of cocaine, 4.8 grams of fentanyl and 44 grams of methamphetamine.

The drugs have a combined estimated street value of $15,740.

“Also seized were three crossbows, three rifles, one shotgun, seven replica firearms (and) ammunition,” police said in a news release Sept. 11.

In addition, $1,890 in cash was seized along with items related to drug trafficking.

A resident of Thessalon has been charged with several drug trafficking and weapons offences.

“The OPP remains committed to addressing the trafficking of illicit drugs and enhancing community safety,” police said.
