A woman has died and a man has been arrested in a femicide investigation. On Tuesday just before 6:30 p.m., the London Police Service was called to a home on Chelton Road. When they arrived, they said they found a woman suffering from life-threatening injuries. The woman was taken to hospital by EMS and later succumbed to her injuries. A man was arrested at the scene. Officers said the victim and suspect were known to each other and were in a relationship. More family members were at the home at the time but were not hurt. 41-year-old Mandeep Singh of London has been charged with second-degree murder. “Intimate partner violence remains a significant public safety and community wellbeing concern,” said Det. Sgt. Micah Bourdeau with the LPS Major Crimes section. “Women continue to represent the majority of victims in police-reported cases, and we know many incidents go unreported. Addressing this issue requires a coordinated response, and we remain committed to working alongside our community partners to strengthen prevention efforts, enhance education and awareness, improve intervention strategies, and support ongoing efforts to better understand and respond to intimate partner violence and femicide.” The investigation is still in its early stages.
