The Montreal Victoire’s missing Walter Cup has been found after being lost during transport, the team announced Monday on social media. “Turns out Walter needed a little rest after all the celebrations. Don’t worry, she’s been found, got some much-needed rest, and is ready to hit the road!” the team wrote. The replica went missing last week when it didn’t arrive in Lethbridge, Alta. The cup was scheduled to spend Thursday with Victoire forward Dara Greig. A shipping container arrived, but without the cup inside. It remains unclear where the trophy was found or how it went missing. The Professional Women’s Hockey League said the cup had been “lost in transit” and indicated last week that it was working with its carrier to locate it. The Victoire became the first Canadian-based team to win the Walter Cup after claiming the PWHL championship for the first time on May 20, defeating the Ottawa Charge.
