Two people face charges after Onion Lake RCMP seized methamphetamine, cocaine and other illicit substances during a traffic stop. Around 1:45 a.m. Aug. 17, Onion Lake RCMP performed a traffic stop on the Onion Lake Cree Nation, according to a Monday news release. During the stop, officers discovered open alcohol in the vehicle. Further investigation turned up 89 grams of methamphetamine, 45 grams of cocaine, 11 narcotic tablets, cash, and a machete. Two people from Onion Lake—a 44-year-old and a 35-year-old — each face four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, and one count of possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes. Both have been remanded into custody until their next court appearances in Lloydminster Provincial Court.
