Ottawa police say a third park in the city’s east was found to have loose pills scattered around the area. Over the weekend, police urged caution after more than 100 pills were found scattered in a suspicious manner in Blue Willow Park on Longleaf Drive and Silverbirch Park on Silverbirch Street in Orléans. Police say after an extensive search nearby on Sunday, additional pills were found in Ruisseau Park on Creek Crossing Street. All three parks are located within a close proximity of one another. “Other nearby parks were also searched, but no pills or other unknown substances were found,” Ottawa police said in a news release Monday. “The investigation remains ongoing, and residents are asked to be alert of any suspicious activity in the area.” Police said in a previous update that officers found pills scattered near bushes and trees, on the grass and concealed inside acorns at Blue Willow Park. Residents are asked not to touch or handle any suspicious substances found in public spaces. Children and pets should be closely supervised in the area. The substance in the pills remains unknown. Anyone who finds pills or unknown substances is asked to leave them in place and contact police immediately.
