A 27-year-old “repeat offender for serious speeding offences” has had his licence suspended for 30 days after he was caught driving at excessive speeds on the A-25 motorway in Terrebonne, Que. The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) confirms that the man was stopped at 2 p.m. on June 24 for travelling at 177 km/h in a 100 km/h zone. As a result, the Sainte-Julienne resident was also issued a $1,543 fine and 14 demerit points. The SQ points out that speeding is one of the leading causes of fatal collisions on the province’s roads.
