A man is dead after a fight degenerated in Montreal’s Rosemont-La-Petite-Patrie borough early Friday morning. Montreal police (SPVM) received several 911 calls at 12:45 a.m. about a row between three people near Papineau Avenue and Beaubien Street. “When the police arrived at the scene, they located a victim on the ground,” said Caroline Chèvrefils, a spokesperson with Montreal police. “He was unconscious. The police officers, followed by the paramedics, performed CPR on the victim.” The man, whose identity remains unknown, was pronounced dead on site. Chèvrefils added that two men, aged 25 and 28, were found near the area with non-life-threatening upper body injuries. “They were transported to hospital,” she said. “The police arrested them, and they are currently being held.” A perimeter has been established to allow investigators to canvass the scene.
