A man in his 30s was killed Monday night after a tire came off a vehicle and then struck a van traveling on Highway 30 in Brossard. The van belonged to an upholstery business based in St-Lambert, on Montreal’s South Shore. Janine Lavoie, an office administrator at T. Ingram Interiors Inc., told CTV news that the owner of the business and his son were inside the van at the time of the crash, at around 5 p.m. She said the son, who was in the front passenger seat, died instantly. The owner was not seriously injured but was in shock after the tragedy, she said. The van remained at the scene of the crash into the evening hours, with the shattered front windshield covered in yellow tarp. The police investigation is ongoing.
