Thunder Bay Police have charged a man with carrying a concealed weapon after officers saw a man attempting to gain access to a locked vehicle. According to police, officers were on patrol in the Machar Avenue area on Sept. 18 when incident occurred. The suspect fled after officers made initial contact but was later charged following a brief chase, police said. A search of the suspect led to the seizure of stolen items. A 25-year-old Thunder Bay man faces charges of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of property obtained by crime and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order. The accused was remanded into custody following their first court appearance.
