Property, guns stolen in Halloween break-in recovered, 3 people charged

North Bay police recover stolen guns and other firearms from a local home following a theft investigation dating back to last fall. 3 people have been charged.

A months-long investigation into a North Bay break-and-enter has led to the recovery of stolen firearms and charges against three people, local police say.

The North Bay Police Service launched an investigation on Oct. 31, 2025, into a break-and-enter at a residence in the 300 block of Widdifield Station Road.

“During the incident, personal property was reported stolen, including several legally owned firearms,” police said in a news release Wednesday.

The investigation remained open for more than seven months before investigators received information on June 7, regarding the whereabouts of property believed to be connected to the break-in.

“What may seem like a small detail could be the key piece of information our investigators need to move an investigation forward, recover stolen property and hold offenders accountable,” said Insp. Scott McFarlane in the release.

Search warrant executed

As a result of the ongoing investigation, police executed a search warrant at a property in the 900 block of Widdifield Station Road on June 9.

“The search resulted in the recovery of firearms and other property reported stolen during the October 2025 break-and-enter,” police said.

Investigators also located and seized additional firearms, including restricted firearms, as well as firearms and ammunition that were improperly stored.

“Any time we can recover stolen firearms and remove weapons from individuals who are not authorized to possess them, our community is safer as a result,” said McFarlane.

3 face multiple charges

A 53-year-old woman, a 54-year-old man and a 74-year-old man have each been charged with three counts of careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition.

The woman faces additional charges of three counts of unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm, possession of property obtained by crime and three other firearm-related offences.

The 54-year-old is also charged with three counts of unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm and three other firearm-related offences.

The 74-year-old faces further charges of possession of a firearm, prohibited or restricted weapon obtained by crime, unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm, possession of property obtained by crime, another firearm-related offence and disobeying a court order.

The three co-accused were held in custody pending a bail hearing.
